Welcome to Book Club!
We are reading alot of books in class at the 
moment and there are so many that I am hearing 
about because you are really enjoying them.

So .... I thought that you might like to share 
them with the class on our blog.

• What you need to do is take a photo of the book cover
• Write the name and author of the book.
• Write a short blurb about the book, i.e. what's it about. But don't give away any important details.
• Explain why you are enjoying it or why you recommend it.
• Then finally give it a score our of 10.

This book is from the New Zealand Girl series, and is the first book in the series.  This book is about when ten-year-old Rebecca Kelly from Ireland, runs away from home to get on the Queen of Nations boat from Ireland to New Zealand in 1874.  Rebecca Kelly must become a servant and earn her passage to the new colony. This book is written by Deborah Burnside (who is Rebecca). I enjoyed the book because it has a bit of history in it and is just really interesting.

I rate this book a 9 out of 10.

This book is another book from the New Zealand Girl series, and is the second book in the series. This book is about when Hene's twin brother, Teahi, falls dangerously ill and her parents fear that she might also fall ill, so they send her away to the Paihia Mission Station. This book is written by Paula Morris (who is Hene in the story). I enjoyed  the book because it has a lot of history about New Zealand.

I rate it a 9 out of 10.

This book is the 3rd book in the New Zealand girl series. It is about a girl called Charlotte who loves to play marbles and read about adventures on the high seas. She runs away from home to the diggings in Otago. Can she find a fortune in the goldfields? Or will she have to return home to a life of sewing, cooking and looking after her little sisters? This book is written by Sandy McKay (Charlotte). I enjoyed this book because it has a lot of adventure.

I rate this book an 8 out of 10.
